Today I Set a Pale Blue Candle Holder by the Window
Thu, June 11, 2026
When I placed a pale blue candle holder on the white table, gentle light gathered around it even without a flame.
This afternoon, I gently placed a pale blue candle holder on the white table by the window. Soft light came in through the curtain, and a little blue gathered in the glass pattern. I left the white candle inside unlit and simply looked at it for a while. When I turned the round glass slightly with my fingertips, thin lines of light loosened across the table, and even the room air seemed to grow clearer. Each time the curtain moved, the candle holder shadow slowly changed its shape. Some things can calm my feelings just by being nearby, even without being lit. A faint flower scent stayed in the room too, and the afternoon passed more quietly than usual. Before putting it back on the shelf in the evening, I held it up to the window light one more time. The pale blue shimmered softly in my hands, as if it had kept today's peaceful time inside. I hope tomorrow I can find another small brightness that does not need a flame.
