Today I Put a Pale Blue Linen Ribbon in a Drawer
Fri, June 12, 2026
Putting a pale blue linen ribbon into a white drawer gently settled the space around my afternoon desk.
This afternoon, I opened the small white drawer in my desk and gently put away a pale blue linen ribbon. Soft light came in through the window, and even the inside of the drawer looked touched by a faint blue glow. The ribbon felt smooth against my fingertips, and the tiny texture of the fabric looked sweet up close. After I rolled it neatly and placed it in the white divider, it felt as if the scattered feelings on my desk settled quietly with it. Before closing the drawer, I paused for a moment and looked at it. With just one pale blue ribbon inside the white wood, it seemed like I was putting away a small piece of sky. Outside, the clouds moved slowly, and the room air felt like it was arranging itself without any rush. In the evening, I opened the drawer once more. The ribbon was still curled quietly in the same place. It is not something that stands out, but knowing it is kept neatly there makes tomorrow feel a little calmer already. Today, the pale blue cloth and the white drawer gently straightened the edge of my heart.
