Morning Glowed Roundly in a Pale Blue Paperweight

This morning, I noticed a pale blue paperweight resting on the white desk as the window light reached it. The clear glass held soft blue reflections, and the quiet room began to feel a little brighter around me. When I leaned closer, the tiny flower-like shapes inside caught small points of light. It should have felt heavy, but in the morning glow it looked as light as a drop of water, and my heart softened with it. I lifted it carefully with both hands, and the cool roundness touched my fingertips. When I placed it back on the desk, a pale blue shadow spread across the white paper, helping my hurried feelings settle down. I want to remember this round blue light. If the day grows busy, the morning gathered inside the paperweight can help my heart become quiet again.
